Four Holidays and a Funeral

Well, that born again optimist was not to be trusted. As I was enjoying reconnecting with my good friends, hope and possibility, the bitch payback rudely showed up, and with her usual charm put an instant stop to the party. Apparently, my body needed some time to recover from its most recent black hole adventure. (Honestly, body, enough!) Much of the festive season was spent in bed, listening to meditations and dozing, whilst the sound of laughter and chatting drifted up the stairs. I dipped into the festivities as and when the energy allowed – to get fed if nothing else (and with two foodies in the house, getting fed was definitely worth the effort). ‘Tis the season to be pampered

Hey my lovely blogging friends…

I just wanted to wish you all lots of festive love – I hope Santa’s sack is the generous kind, the Baileys will be flowing, and you wear your Christmas jumper with pride.

We are going away for the week, staying in a beautiful lodge in Cirencester, set among a nature reserve, overlooking lakes, with a spa on site. A spa! I must have been REALLY good this year…

How do you feel about Christmas?

I find December a weird month; if I was living in a bubble with just Hubby and I, we would probably forget it is Christmas. The festive period just doesn’t mean anything to us – well, apart from the fact that Husband gets a few days off and we get to hang out together, which is always lovely. But we don’t do presents, we don’t have a tree or any festive decorations, and we only send cards to those people who would never forgive us if they didn’t receive one. Continue reading
